There are 37 states (Including the FCT) in Nigeria and each of them has varying temperatures from time to time. For long, Nigerians have been asking the same debatable question, "Which Nigerian state is the hottest in terms of temperature?"
This question has spark up many arguments from time to time as many Nigerians in various states want to believe that their state is the hottest state in terms of temperature. Well, the answer is obvious. Except you've been to all the states in Nigeria, you can't particularly say the one you're living in or the few you've visited are the hottest states in the whole of Nigeria. Here, we've carried out a lot of research and we've examined the temperatures of various states in Nigeria and finally, we have the answer to the question Nigerians have been asking for so long. Here are the top ten hottest states in Nigeria beginning from the tenth hottest state.
Note that the temperatures of these states are subject to change. So at a time, one will be hotter than the other. But here are the list of states in Nigeria that are mostly hotter than other states during the dry season.
9. Lagos State: Lagos State is the 9th hottest state and it has the same temperature as Edo state. The temperature in Lagos State is 33°c. Having the same temperature as Edo State will make you think that they must be of the same temperature but No. Lagos State is slightly hotter than Edo State and that's why it has finished in 9th place and Edo State has finished in 10th place.
8. Enugu State: Enugu comes in number eight (8) and it has a temperature of 34°c. Known for their coal production, Enugu state tends to get very hot and it's the 8th hottest state in Nigeria.
7. Kwara State: Kwara is the 7th hottest state in Nigeria. It has the same temperature as Enugu state. The temperature in Kwara state is 34°c.
6. Kaduna State: Kaduna has the same temperature as Kwara and Enugu state. Its temperature is 34°c. Although it's falling in 6th place with the same temperature as Kwara and Enugu State, Kaduna State temperature just like Lagos State is slightly higher than Kwara and Enugu State.
5. Kano State: Kano is the 5th hottest state with a temperature of 36°c.
4. Benue State: Benue state is the 4th hottest state in Nigeria and it has the same temperature as Kano state. Its temperature is 36°c.
3. Kastina State: Kastina state is the 3rd hottest state in Nigeria with a temperature of 40°c.
2. Sokoto State: Sokoto is the 2nd hottest state in Nigeria with the same temperature as Kastina state. Its temperature is also 40°c.
One must understand that Africa is the hottest continent on earth. This is the reason for the high temperatures they’re always experiencing. With all been said, living in Africa and in Nigeria is still very okay and Nigeria attracts thousands of tourists every year.

What rubbish! What of Adamawa state? The temperature is always high
ReplyDeleteAdamawa is hot, but there are times when it's not as hot as some states. That's why the post said "The temperatures of these states are subject to change"
DeleteAll the states you have in mind won't remain hotter than the other forever.
Thank you for your understanding
Wow
DeleteThis is not true .... Edo doesn't have a place here..Adamawa is btw no 1 and 2. What about other states in the north East?
ReplyDeleteWe underwent series of research before publishing this post and our writers have degree in sciences and geography. "States' temperatures are subject to change."Pls don't skip that part.
DeleteAdamawa is very hot
DeleteAdamawa state should be 2nd or 3rd......
ReplyDeleteWhat of ebonyi state

DeleteAbuja can never be the hottest city Abuja is even a paradise compare to Sokoto let to say of Borno self.
To me Sokoto and Borno self are competing cause they are most of Sahara
This write up is so inaccurate and misleading, truly we shouldn't believe everything we see on the internet. I wonder what places like Lagos, Edo are doing on the list. I am glad people already mentioned Adamawa, how can you have this kind of list without having Adamawa in 1st or 2nd place? How about Yobe?
ReplyDeleteGood day and thank you so much for your comment. As at May 2019 when this post was published Adamawa maintained a 32°c temperature. Even right now, there are still on 32°c. You can do a Google search and confirm this.
DeleteAlso, don't forget that the temperatures of these states are subject to change like the post stated.
Have a blessed day sir/ma.
Is not true mr.... I base in Adamawa oo... Do u know wat we are going through in times of temperature here 😏😏
DeleteI am in no way an expert in these things but I would firmly believe the writers of this information because don't let's forget they are expert in what they do. In retrospect, it might have been more sensitive not to mention first, second but to just say the temperatures. People are so over the top with rankings that they get majorly upset if they dont come first
ReplyDeleteKogi state isn't left out..it's one of the hottest too
ReplyDeleteThe writer is correct, those of you doubting it,should go for research
ReplyDeleteI base in Adamawa State, The share almost the same temperature with Brono state, especially during March period, if ur phone is not a Gud one it can even go off..... We hardly have rain here..... This is raining season, but rain only fell not upto 4 times her dis October, 7am is like 1:pm, the sun will just come out like sun festival.

More grease to your elbow for this wonderful post. May God Almighty increase you in wisdom and knowledge.
ReplyDeleteThe research is not correct..... Adamawa is the second, he didn't even include it at All.
DeleteBecause of the kind of vegetation (Sudan Savanna), the NE is more appropriately hotter than any other geopolitical zone in the country. More so, the region is entirely sandy with less or no trees planted across in which case, Yobe, Adamawa and Taraba should've occupy a major part of the list.
